I have a feeling about watching costume dramas.
——Some personal views on China’s democratization
Abstract: Costume dramas create the illusory image of Liu Yong, Ji Xiaolan fight against He Shen, catering to the people’s fantasies. In real history, they have a close relationship with HeShen. Chinese people lack civic awareness and always fantasize about the kindness of governor or the benevolent government of the upper class, which hinders the germ of democracy and freedom.

In addition, I found the commentary videos of ancient costume dramas on the B station. Most of the commentary videos of these costume dramas are commentary on “Prime Minister Liu Luoguo” and “Iron Tooth and Bronze Tooth Ji Xiaolan”. The protagonists of these two dramas, without exception, are against the court of He Hao, who is corrupt and accepting bribes, smashing their various plans and fighting.
So, is the real history really like this? We all know that history is created by man, and it is inevitable in line with human nature. In real history, both Liu Yong and Ji Xiaolan have a very good relationship with He Shen, which is completely different with the TV series. You can think about it, who would offended his colleagues for the sake of a powerless civilian, and especially the colleague was a powerful, beloved minister of Emperor Qianlong, Niugulu Heshen? He Shen is the emperor’s favorite minister. His corrupt behavior is acquiesced by the emperor. Liu Yong or Ji Xiaolan, they are all around the emperor. They must be extremely smart. Can’t you understand?
These two TV series are nothing more than the embodiment of the interpretation and fantasy of the Chinese people, fantasizing about a “Qingtian Master” like Bao Zheng in the Song Dynasty to punish adultery, eliminate evil and uphold justice for himself. From this point, it can be seen that the Chinese people have no sense of citizenship, which also reflects that the Chinese people have unrealistic fantasies about the ruling class and always want to have an emperor-like existence on their heads. There is a same attitude towards today’s Communist Party of China. No matter what injustice you suffer, you will only think that the original intention of the emperor is good, and the ruling class is bad. In fact, the senior leadership of the Communist Party does not care about the life or death of the people at the bottom of their heart at all. The Chinese are just the target of their exploiting.
I told my classmates about many evil actions of the Communist Party before, and I thought he had listened to it. Later, I had the opportunity to show him the video of the BBC Chinese Department on YouTube about the 64 incident. He said to me, “It turns out that you said that those chairmen are bad. I don’t believe it. Now you show me this, and I believe it.”
If Chinese people can’t change their basic fantasy of the ruling class, China’s democracy will be extremely remote. Only if the Chinese people abandon the illusion of the ruling class, the seeds of democracy and freedom will naturally take root and sprout in China, which is unstoppable.
