I was once an angel, not in heaven, but wandering in the fields, with a round edge and blue lace.

I don’t care about the pretty lace. The fish in the stream, with their long beards, lead me on my journey across the world.

I don’t care if the clouds are crumbling. The shepherd boy, speaking his grandmother’s words, tells me ancient sayings.

I was an angel. They didn’t believe. Gradually, I wavered and believed their words.
