位于四川成都的秋雨圣约教会（前称秋雨之福教会）确由王怡牧师与其妻子蒋蓉等人共同创建。
该教会的发展与创立2005年：王怡在2005年成为基督徒后，于当年正式在其成都的家中创办了“秋雨之福团契”。正式成立（2008年）：随着聚会人数增加，该团契于2008年发展成为家庭教会，并正式命名为“秋雨之福教会”。2018年1月，教会在发展中更名为“秋雨圣约教会”，当时已发展至拥有一个母堂和多个布道所、数个分立教会的大型独立家庭教会。王怡牧师于2018年9月在讲道中公开表示“习近平若不悔改必要灭亡”以及人人（包括习近平在内）都是罪人。王怡因为这句“习近平若不悔改必要灭亡”，在2018年12月9日，警方大规模搜捕成都秋雨圣约教会，王怡及妻子蒋蓉等上百名信徒被带走，教会随后被官方取缔。2019年12月，成都市中级人民法院以“煽动颠覆国家政权罪”和“非法经营罪”判处王怡牧师有期徒刑9年。现在王怡牧师被关押在四川成都金堂监狱，并被爆出肝癌晚期。蒋蓉师母多次要求探监都被拒绝。圣经中记载：【使徒行传 7:51-52】 —— 司提反在殉道前的讲道：“你们这硬着颈项、心与耳未受割礼的人，时常抗拒圣灵！你们的祖宗怎样，你们也怎样。哪一个先知不是你们祖宗逼迫呢？他们把预言义人要来的人杀了；如今你们又把那义人卖了，杀了。”先知耶利米：因宣告审判与悔改被囚于淤泥牢狱耶利米被称为“流泪的先知”，他一生劝勉犹大国悔改、离弃偶像，却被同胞视为叛徒。【耶利米书 38:6】：“他们就拿住耶利米，下在哈米勒的儿子玛基雅的牢房里……牢房里没有水，只有淤泥，耶利米就陷在淤泥中。”圣经中记载：司提反和耶利米都因为对王和整个民族呐喊警示遭遇了迫害甚至付出了生命的代价。今天王怡牧师同样遭遇了这样的患难。同样现在中国的王他也不能听这样的警示，并捉拿王怡牧师下监，一关就是九年。人生能有几个九年？而且是在人生最宝贵的黄金时期被监禁失去自由，并且政府已经对外公布：王怡牧师已经肝癌晚期！就这样一个优秀的人，曾经也是父母的骄傲，老师所喜悦的学生，父母花尽一生积蓄培养出来的人才，因为在中国这个信仰不自由、言论不自由的光景下被毁了。中国有句古话：身正不怕影子斜。那么现在中国的王，你为什么害怕这样的警示呢？

Does Pastor Wang Yi Truly Subvert State Power?

The Early Rain Covenant Church (formerly known as the Early Rain Blessings Church), located in Chengdu, Sichuan, was indeed co-founded by Pastor Wang Yi, his wife Jiang Rong, and others.
The Development and Founding of the Church
2005: After becoming a Christian in 2005, Wang Yi officially founded the “Early Rain Blessings Fellowship” in his home in Chengdu that same year. Official Establishment (2008): As the number of attendees grew, the fellowship developed into a house church in 2008 and was officially named the “Early Rain Blessings Church.”
In January 2018, during its expansion, the church changed its name to the “Early Rain Covenant Church.” By then, it had developed into a large-scale independent house church possessing one main church (mother church), multiple mission stations, and several branch churches. In September 2018, Pastor Wang Yi publicly stated in a sermon that “if Xi Jinping does not repent, he will surely perish,” and that everyone (including Xi Jinping) is a sinner.
Because of this single statement, “if Xi Jinping does not repent, he will surely perish,” on December 9, 2018, the police launched a large-scale crackdown on the Chengdu Early Rain Covenant Church. Over a hundred believers, including Wang Yi and his wife Jiang Rong, were taken away, and the church was subsequently banned by the authorities.
In December 2019, the Chengdu Intermediate People’s Court sentenced Pastor Wang Yi to nine years in prison on charges of “inciting subversion of state power” and “illegal business operations.” Currently, Pastor Wang Yi is incarcerated in Jingtang Prison in Chengdu, Sichuan, and has been reported to be in the late stages of liver cancer. His wife, Jiang Rong, has made repeated requests for prison visitation, all of which have been rejected.
It is recorded in the Bible [Acts 7:51-52]—Stephen’s sermon prior to his martyrdom: “You stiff-necked people, with uncircumcised hearts and ears! You are just like your ancestors: You always resist the Holy Spirit! Was there ever a prophet your ancestors did not persecute? They even killed those who predicted the coming of the Righteous One. And now you have betrayed and murdered him.”
The Prophet Jeremiah: Imprisoned in a Muddy Cistern for Proclaiming Judgment and Repentance
Jeremiah is known as the “Weeping Prophet.” Throughout his life, he exhorted the Kingdom of Judah to repent and turn away from idols, yet he was regarded by his fellow countrymen as a traitor. [Jeremiah 38:6]: “So they took Jeremiah and put him into the cistern of Malkijah, the king’s son… There was no water in the cistern, only mud, and Jeremiah sank down into the mud.”
It is recorded in the Bible that both Stephen and Jeremiah suffered persecution and even paid the ultimate price with their lives because they cried out warnings to kings and the entire nation.
Today, Pastor Wang Yi is enduring the very same suffering. Likewise, the current ruler of China cannot listen to such a warning either, and he arrested Pastor Wang Yi and cast him into prison, locking him up for nine long years.
How many nine-year periods does a person get in a lifetime? Moreover, he was imprisoned and deprived of his freedom during the most precious prime years of his life. Furthermore, the government has already publicly announced that Pastor Wang Yi has reached the late stages of liver cancer! Such an outstanding individual—who was once the pride of his parents, a beloved student to his teachers, and a talent cultivated through his parents’ lifetime savings—has been ruined under China’s current reality of no freedom of belief and no freedom of speech.
There is an ancient Chinese saying: “A straight tree fears no crooked shadow” (an upright man fears no accusations). Why then, current ruler of China, are you afraid of such a warning?
