中国民主党呼吁关注自由、民主与人权

三、现场专访：房兰峰——“我担心的，是我的声音太小”
活动期间，《在野党杂志》记者贾嘉采访了中国民主党秘书长房兰峰。
记者：请您先介绍一下自己，以及今天举行的是怎样的一场活动？
房兰峰：
我叫房兰峰，目前担任中国民主党秘书长。
我们今天主要是抗议习近平访问美国。
大家也知道，我们认为中共长期通过宣传和信息控制影响中国人民，同时也影响国际社会。
习近平此次访美受到很多关注。美国政府从国家层面可能有自己的外交和国家利益考量，但是作为真正关注中国问题的人，我们认为自己有必要站出来发声。
我们希望让美国以及全世界更多人了解我们所关注的中国问题。
习近平作为中国共产党的最高领导人，我们认为他的执政方式以及中国政府的一些政策，对自由、民主、人权等问题产生了很大的影响。
所以，我们今天站出来，希望把我们的声音发出来。
四、“我并没有很大的顾虑，唯一担心的是声音太小”
记者进一步询问房兰峰，长期参与这样的公开活动，是否会有顾虑。
房兰峰表示，他个人最大的担忧并不是站出来本身，而是担心自己的声音无法被更多人听见。
他说：
“我唯一的顾虑，就是我担心我的声音发不出来，我担心我的声音太小了。”
房兰峰表示，在他看来，一个普通人应该拥有基本的道德底线，也应该在面对自己认为不合理的事情时表达自己的态度。
他随后谈到了自己所关注的中国人权问题，包括少数民族政策、宗教信仰以及他所关注的器官移植等议题。
房兰峰认为，一些相关问题值得国际社会持续关注。
“我只是觉得我的声音太小了，我希望让我的声音发得更远一点，让更多人知道。”他说。
五、谈中国民主党：从1990年代走到今天
在采访中，房兰峰还介绍了中国民主党的历史。
他表示，中国民主党的民主运动渊源可以追溯到1990年代末期。1998年前后，包括朱虞夫等民主人士在中国国内参与创建相关民主组织。
房兰峰认为，当时中国社会曾经出现过一定程度的开放空间，但随后参与民主运动的人士陆续遭到打压。
他特别提到了朱虞夫。
房兰峰表示，朱虞夫曾因为参与民主活动而长期遭受监禁，但即使经历了牢狱生涯，仍然选择继续参与民主运动。
他说：
“今天朱老先生又站出来了，继续延续民主的精神。”
在房兰峰看来，民主运动并不是某一个人的事情，而需要越来越多普通人的参与。
他表示，希望有更多人加入中国民主党，参与中国民主、自由和人权事业。
六、“每个人贡献一小步，整个社会就会前进一步”
当记者问及中国民主党的未来发展以及他个人对民主运动的期许时，房兰峰表示，无论是一个组织还是一个普通人，只要愿意站出来、愿意发声，并且推动社会进步，即使只是做了一件很小的事情，也具有意义。
他说：
“只要你站出来，只要你发声，只要你做正确的事情，只要你推动中国民主社会的进步，哪怕一点点，每个人贡献一小步，那整个社会就是朝着文明进步了一大步。”
房兰峰表示，他希望中国民主党未来能够走得更远，也希望越来越多关注中国自由、民主和人权的人士加入。
与此同时，他也谈到了自己对海外中国民主运动发展的担忧。
他认为，中国民主运动内部有时会受到外部因素影响，包括他所认为的渗透、诋毁以及其他形式的干扰。
因此，他呼吁参与者保持自己的原则和立场。
房兰峰表示，他相信，只要越来越多的人愿意参与，中国民主运动就能够形成更大的社会力量。
七、对中国民主党的期待：让更多人参与进来
谈到未来，房兰峰表示，中国民主党的发展不仅仅依靠少数领导者，更需要普通人的参与。
他认为，每一个人的行动，无论大小，都可能成为社会进步的一部分。

八、活动接近尾声：朱虞夫从医院直接赶到现场

[Los Angeles, September 24, 2026] On the afternoon of September 24, the China Democracy Party held a protest outside the Consulate-General of the People’s Republic of China in Los Angeles, themed “Protesting CCP Leader Xi Jinping’s Threat to the Free and Democratic World.”
Participants expressed their demands regarding topics such as freedom, democracy, human rights, religious belief, and the Chinese democracy movement, while appealing to the international community to maintain focus on China’s human rights and democracy issues.
The event was organized by the China Democracy Party, with co-founder Zhu Yufu assisting in its organization. Activists voiced criticism of Chinese politics, human rights conditions, and Xi Jinping’s governance style through speeches, banners, and media interviews on-site.

During the event, Opposition Party Magazine reporter Jia Jia interviewed Fang Lanfeng, Secretary-General of the China Democracy Party, discussing the protest, the history of the China Democracy Party, and its future developments.
II. On-Site Report: Making Voices Heard Before the Chinese Consulate in Los Angeles
On the afternoon of September 24, participants from various backgrounds gathered outside the Consulate-General of the People’s Republic of China in Los Angeles.
Those present expressed their political demands through speeches, displaying banners, and taking media interviews. Words such as freedom, democracy, human rights, and religious belief became central themes of the discussions on-site.
The backdrop of this event is Xi Jinping’s upcoming visit to the United States.

III. On-Site Interview: Fang Lanfeng — “My Only Fear Is That My Voice Is Too Small”
During the event, Opposition Party Magazine reporter Jia Jia interviewed Fang Lanfeng, Secretary-General of the China Democracy Party.
Reporter: Could you please introduce yourself first and tell us what kind of event is taking place today?
Fang Lanfeng:
My name is Fang Lanfeng, and I currently serve as the Secretary-General of the China Democracy Party.
Today, we are primarily here to protest Xi Jinping’s visit to the United States.
As everyone knows, we believe the CCP has long influenced the Chinese people through propaganda and information control, while also extending that influence to the international community.
“Xi Jinping’s visit to the US has drawn significant attention. The US government may have its own diplomatic and national interest considerations at the state level, but as people who truly care about China’s issues, we believe it is necessary to stand up and make our voices heard.
We hope to help more people in the United States and around the world understand the issues in China that concern us.
As the top leader of the Chinese Communist Party, we believe Xi Jinping’s style of governance and certain policies of the Chinese government have had a major impact on issues like freedom, democracy, and human rights.
That is why we are standing up today, hoping to get our voices out there.”
IV. “I Don’t Have Big Misgivings; My Only Concern Is That My Voice Is Too Small”
The reporter further asked Fang Lanfeng whether he had any misgivings about participating in such public events over the long term.
Fang Lanfeng expressed that his greatest personal fear was not standing up itself, but rather that his voice would fail to reach a wider audience.
He said:
“My only concern is that my voice won’t be heard, that my voice is too small.”
Fang Lanfeng stated that, in his view, an ordinary person should possess a basic moral foundation and express their stance when facing things they believe to be unreasonable.
He then discussed the Chinese human rights issues that concern him, including policies regarding ethnic minorities, religious belief, and organ transplantation issues he follows closely.
Fang Lanfeng believes that several related issues warrant the continuous attention of the international community.
“I just feel that my voice is too small. I hope to project my voice further so that more people will know,” he said.
V. On the China Democracy Party: From the 1990s to Today
During the interview, Fang Lanfeng also introduced the history of the China Democracy Party.
He noted that the roots of the China Democracy Party’s democracy movement can be traced back to the late 1990s. Around 1998, pro-democracy figures including Zhu Yufu participated in founding the related democratic organization within mainland China.
Fang Lanfeng reflected that while Chinese society experienced a brief window of openness at the time, those involved in the democracy movement were subsequently subjected to suppression.
He specifically highlighted Zhu Yufu.
Fang Lanfeng noted that Zhu Yufu had suffered prolonged imprisonment for his involvement in pro-democracy activities, yet even after serving time in prison, he chose to continue participating in the democracy movement.
He remarked:
“Today, Mr. Zhu has stood up once again, continuing to carry forward the spirit of democracy.”
In Fang Lanfeng’s view, the democracy movement is not the work of a single individual; it requires the participation of more and more ordinary people.
He expressed hope that more people would join the China Democracy Party and participate in the cause of democracy, freedom, and human rights for China.
VI. “If Everyone Contributes a Small Step, Society as a Whole Takes a Step Forward”
When asked about the future development of the China Democracy Party and his personal hopes for the democracy movement, Fang Lanfeng stated that whether it is an organization or an ordinary individual, as long as one is willing to stand up, speak out, and promote social progress, even doing a small thing holds significance.
He said:
“As long as you stand up, as long as you speak out, as long as you do the right thing, and as long as you advance China’s progress toward a democratic society—even just a little bit—if everyone contributes a small step, then society as a whole takes a major step toward civilization and progress.”
Fang Lanfeng expressed hope that the China Democracy Party will go further in the future and that an increasing number of people concerned about China’s freedom, democracy, and human rights will join.
At the same time, he also voiced concerns regarding the development of the overseas Chinese democracy movement.
He believes that the internal affairs of the Chinese democracy movement are sometimes affected by external factors, including what he views as infiltration, defamation, and other forms of interference.
Therefore, he called on participants to maintain their principles and position.
Fang Lanfeng stated he believes that as long as more people are willing to participate, the Chinese democracy movement can grow into a greater social force.
VII. Expectations for the China Democracy Party: Engaging More People
Speaking of the future, Fang Lanfeng emphasized that the development of the China Democracy Party relies not just on a few leaders, but even more so on the participation of ordinary people.
He believes that every individual’s actions, regardless of scale, can become part of social progress.
“As long as you genuinely care about democracy, freedom, and human rights, and as long as you are willing to work toward these goals, I believe the number of such people will grow.”
Fang Lanfeng stated that he remains confident in the future of the China Democracy Party.
He hopes that in the future, more Chinese people will pay attention to democracy and human rights issues, and that overseas democratic forces will continue to grow and expand.
VIII. The Event Nears Its End: Zhu Yufu Arrives Directly from the Hospital
As the event neared its conclusion, Zhu Yufu, co-founder of the China Democracy Party, arrived at the scene.
According to attendees, Zhu Yufu had just received medical treatment at a hospital earlier that day and proceeded directly to the Consulate-General of the People’s Republic of China in Los Angeles to join the demonstration.
This moment became one of the most memorable scenes of the day’s event.
For those who have long followed the Chinese democracy movement, Zhu Yufu is by no means an unfamiliar name.
From his involvement in China’s democracy movement in the 1990s and subsequent prolonged imprisonment to his continued participation in democratic activities overseas, Zhu Yufu has persistently voiced his political aspirations over the long term.
On that day, despite having just returned from a hospital visit, he still chose to travel to the site to meet with fellow participants.
Those present expressed their deep respect for Zhu Yufu’s arrival.
In their view, Zhu Yufu’s ability to show up at the scene despite his poor health was a reflection of his enduring commitment to democratic principles.
IX. Perspectives from a Protest: The Voices of Overseas Chinese Pro-Democracy Activists
Observing the afternoon’s developments, this event served not only as a protest against Xi Jinping’s visit to the US, but also as a platform for overseas Chinese pro-democracy activists to express their political demands.
For the participants, they hope to gain broader international attention through public action.
For the organizers, being able to publicly express their views in front of the Chinese Consulate is itself part of the democratic practice as they understand it.
The statement made by Fang Lanfeng during his interview with Opposition Party Magazine stood out as one of the most memorable quotes from the exchange:
