Thinking of My Daughter on Mid-Autumn Night

Misty rain and turquoise waters gently caress the fine sand,The grass grows lush and green as willow branches sprout.

Hand in hand against the breeze, sharing pure childhood joy,Oblivious to the chattering birds amidst the tree branches.

A rainbow’s reflection in the sky, thoughts wandering by the clouds,Cheering and leaping with joy over wildflowers along the road.

Hearing that my daughter has grown up comforts a father’s heart,Through the freezing window under the cold moon, I double my longing for Jia.

Xu Guang’s Note: “Thinking doubly of Jia” refers to my beloved daughter, Jiajia [Jia].
