十一月的美国,街道依旧温暖如春,风吹过,树叶翻动,没有声响,仿佛怕惊醒谁。街角的商店里,南瓜和肉桂的气味混杂火鸡的香气,扑向人群,我闻到自己过去逃亡的阴影,那些味道熟悉又陌生。

我走过黑暗的地方。黑暗不仅没有光,它还会把人压成灰,甚至让人怀疑自己是否存在。有人在清晨敲门,脚步声轻轻,却像利刃一样穿透耳膜,让人心跳漏拍。

我曾被逼迫、被监控、被剥夺表达的权利,甚至在想象中被剥夺生命。自由,对我来说,是一个遥不可及的词。现在,它像一阵风,轻轻掠过,却让我泪流满面。

我第一次在这里过感恩节。餐桌上的火鸡、土豆泥、南瓜派、蔓越莓,每一种食物都带着一种温暖和象征。但我坐在那里时,眼里看到的却是影子:自己在黑暗里长久的身影,与餐桌上亮堂的光形成刺目的对比。

如今的我被美国重新接住。而正因经历过失去自由、失去尊严、甚至失去生命保障的恐惧,才更能体会今天的光亮来之不易。

很长一段时间,国际公约法对许多人来说只是新闻上的名词:联合国大会、1951年《难民地位公约》、1967年《议定书》、禁止驱回原则(non-refoulement)。它们听上去庞大、抽象、遥远,像是属于外交官或法律专家的语言。

但当我第一次面对面和移民官交谈时,我忽然明白了一件事情:

世界上至少有一些国家愿意听你的故事,愿意保护你免受迫害。

在中国,当人们因言论被监控、因参与民主运动而受威胁,“合法权益”不过是讽刺性的空话。公约写着:当有人因政治迫害、宗教压迫、言论受限或持不同政见而受威胁时,他有权逃离,有权寻求保护。

我第一次意识到,这不是法律的炫耀,而是给最脆弱的人留的一扇门。

这扇门不看你的肤色,不看你的财富,也不看你的国籍。它只问:你是否正在被伤害?你是否需要保护?

《难民公约》规定,一个人因为政治迫害、宗教压迫、言论自由受限制或因持不同政见而遭受威胁时,有权逃离、寻求保护。

这种保护能让受伤的人能继续前行,能给与恶政缠斗的人最后一丝希望。

它告诉挺身而出的人,公义一直都与我们同在。

逃亡并不浪漫。

它是惊惧,是夜里的躲避,是随时被抓捕的风险,是在机场递出护照时心跳的剧烈。

但也正是在逃亡的路上,我第一次真正体会到“国际社会”这个词的重量。

我遇到过来自人权组织的志愿者,他们为陌生人争取权利,却从不求回报;遇到那些经历过类似迫害的人,他们毫不犹豫地分享经验、鼓励、甚至提供临时住所;遇到来自教会、非营利机构、慈善团体的人,他们愿意帮忙写支持信,愿意陪伴一起准备面谈,愿意在最疲惫的时候彼此祷告。

我曾以为世界只讲利益,但我后来见到另一个世界:制度可以冷漠,国家可以沉默,但人心仍然会颤动。这些手像无形的网,把从高处坠落的人慢慢托住。

那一刻,我意识到文明不是 GDP,也不是军力,而是有人在陌生人跌倒时弯下腰。

这力量把难民从崩溃的边缘重塑起来。

“谢谢你们。我们没有被世界遗弃。”

逃亡的时期,我常常问自己:

“为什么是我?”

“苦难是否有意义?”

“上帝是否在沉默?”

但渐渐地,我明白了一件事:

基督并不承诺我们不会经历风暴,祂承诺的是:

当风暴来临时,你不要害怕,因为我与你同在。

我读《出埃及记》,读到一个民族在压迫下被上帝带出埃及;读《诗篇》,读到大卫在绝望中仍然说:“耶和华是我的牧者”;读《马太福音》,读到耶稣在婴孩时期也曾逃亡埃及;读《约翰福音》,读到“光照在黑暗里,黑暗却不能胜过光”。

那一刻,我突然明白:逃亡不是羞耻,而是信仰历史的一部分。

每个政治难民的故事,都与圣经里的那些逃亡者一样:都是在黑暗中寻找光的人。

在我最无助的时候,是教会的人为我祷告;在我最焦虑的时候,是牧者告诉我:“你不是偶然来到这里,是上帝亲自带你到安全之地”;在我第一次过感恩节的时候,是一个美国家庭打开家门,邀请我一起吃饭,对我说:

“你现在也是我们的一部分。”

基督信仰教我看见:

恩典不是从天而降的奇迹,恩典常常借着人来显明。

感恩节的意义,也从来不是那只火鸡。

它象征的是一种“走过死亡,仍然活着”的见证。

这种象征仿佛也在对我说,政治难民的感恩,不是繁荣的感恩,而是生存的感恩;不是富足的感恩,而是被接纳的感恩;不是成功的感恩,而是自由的感恩。

我从黑暗里出来,在一个自由的国度重新获得呼吸的权利的感恩。

如今我走在街上,听见警车经过不再紧张,看到政府大楼不再避让,晚上睡觉不再担心有人敲门。这些对普通美国人而言毫不起眼的小事,对我来说却是最珍贵的自由。

所以,当我数算恩典时,我知道这不仅是幸运,而是使命。

我被美国保护过,所以我愿意守住背后的价值。

我被基督拯救过,所以我愿意去成为别人的安慰。

我愿意用自己的见证告诉世界:

迫害无论多么强大,都无法阻挡一个人追求自由;

黑暗无论多深,都无法遮盖光的脚步;

一个国家越压制真相,越证明真相的重要。

更重要的是,国际社会愿意告诉那些正在受迫害、正在逃亡、正在等待庇护结果的人:

你们并不孤单。

世界上有法律、有制度、有组织、有信仰、有许多人,愿意在黑暗中与你们同行。

而我们需要,带着恩典,继续前行。

Counting Grace

Abstract:As Zhang Zhijun spends Thanksgiving in the United States, she looks back on her journey of escape and reflects on the grace of freedom, asylum, and faith. She recalls the support she received from the international community, human rights organizations, and the Church during her darkest hours. She now resolves to guard freedom with her own story, to comfort others in need, and to keep walking forward in grace.

In November, the streets of America still feel as warm as spring. When the wind blows, the leaves turn over without making a sound, as if afraid to wake someone. In the shops on the corner, the scent of pumpkin and cinnamon mixes with the aroma of roast turkey and rushes toward the crowd. I inhale it and suddenly smell the shadow of my past escape—familiar, yet distant.

I have walked through dark places. Darkness is not merely the absence of light; it presses a person into dust and makes one doubt whether they exist at all. Someone knocks on the door at dawn, the footsteps soft yet cutting through the ear like a blade, making the heart skip in fear.

I had been persecuted, monitored, deprived of the right to speak—stripped, even in imagination, of the right to live. Freedom, to me, was once a word out of reach. Now it brushes past like a gentle breeze and brings tears to my eyes.

This is my first Thanksgiving here. The turkey, mashed potatoes, pumpkin pie, and cranberries on the table each carry their own warmth and symbolism. But as I sat there, what I saw were shadows: the long silhouette of myself in darkness, standing in sharp contrast to the bright light shining over the table.

Today, America has caught me once again, allowing me to land safely. And precisely because I once lost freedom, dignity, and even the basic assurance of life itself, I can now feel how precious today’s light truly is.

For a long time, international conventions were nothing more than terms heard in the news: the UN General Assembly, the 1951 Refugee Convention, the 1967 Protocol, the principle of non-refoulement. They sounded grand, abstract, distant—language belonging to diplomats and legal experts. But the first time I sat face-to-face with an immigration officer, I suddenly understood something: there are at least some countries in this world willing to hear your story, willing to protect you from persecution.

In China, when people are monitored for their speech or threatened for participating in democracy movements, “lawful rights” are little more than ironic empty words. The Convention states that when someone is threatened due to political persecution, religious oppression, restricted speech, or dissenting beliefs, they have the right to flee and the right to seek protection.

And for the first time, I realized this was not the law showing off—it was a door left open for the most vulnerable. This door does not look at your skin color, your wealth, or your nationality. It asks only: Are you being harmed? Do you need protection?

The Refugee Convention affirms that when a person faces political persecution, religious oppression, restrictions on speech, or threats due to dissenting views, they have the right to escape and the right to seek asylum. Such protection allows the wounded to keep moving and gives those struggling under tyranny one last thread of hope.

It tells those who stand up for justice that righteousness has never left their side.

Escape is not romantic. It is fear—hiding in the night, risking arrest at any moment, feeling your heartbeat pounding as you hand your passport over at the airport.

But it was on that journey of escape that I first understood the true weight of the words “international community.”

I met volunteers from human rights organizations who fought for the rights of strangers without asking for anything in return; I met people who had endured persecution themselves, who readily shared their experience, encouragement, and even temporary shelter; I met people from churches, nonprofits, and charitable groups who were willing to write support letters, prepare me for interviews, and pray alongside me when I felt most exhausted.

I once thought the world only cared about interests. But later I saw another world: where systems can be cold and nations silent, yet human hearts still tremble with compassion. These hands, like an invisible net, gently catch those falling from great heights. In that moment, I understood that civilization is not GDP or military power—it is the willingness of someone to bend down when a stranger has fallen.

This strength reshapes refugees on the edge of collapse.

“Thank you. We have not been abandoned by the world.”

During the long days of escape, I often asked myself: “Why me?” “Does suffering have meaning?” “Is God silent?”

But gradually, I understood something: Christ never promises that we will not encounter storms. He promises this: When the storm comes, do not be afraid—for I am with you.

I read the Book of Exodus, and saw an entire nation led out of oppression by God; I read the Psalms, and saw David declare, even in despair, “The Lord is my shepherd”; I read the Gospel of Matthew, where Jesus Himself fled to Egypt as an infant; I read the Gospel of John, where it is written: “The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.”

In that moment, I understood: escape is not shameful—it is part of the history of faith.

Every political refugee’s story resembles those ancient stories of flight in Scripture. Each one is a person seeking light in the midst of darkness.

When I was helpless, it was the Church that prayed for me; when I was anxious, it was the pastor who told me, “You are not here by accident. God Himself brought you to a place of safety.” And during my first Thanksgiving, it was an American family who opened their door, invited me to share their meal, and said to me: “You are part of us now.”

Faith taught me this: grace is not always a miracle that falls from the sky—grace is often revealed through people.

And the meaning of Thanksgiving has never been just about the turkey. It symbolizes a testimony—a life that has walked through death, yet remains alive.

It tells me that the gratitude of a political refugee is not the gratitude of prosperity, but the gratitude of survival; not the gratitude of abundance, but the gratitude of being accepted; not the gratitude of success, but the gratitude of freedom.

I came out of darkness, and in a free land I regained the right to breathe.

Now, when I walk down the street, the sound of a police car no longer tightens my chest; I no longer avoid government buildings; I no longer fear a knock on the door at night. These may seem trivial to ordinary Americans, but to me they are the most precious expressions of freedom.

So when I count grace, I know it is not merely fortune—it is calling.

America has protected me, so I will guard the values behind that protection.Christ has saved me, so I will become comfort for others.

With my story, I want to tell the world:

No matter how powerful persecution appears, it cannot stop a person from seeking freedom.No matter how deep the darkness, it cannot extinguish the steps of light.The more fiercely a regime suppresses truth, the more it proves the truth’s importance.

And above all, the international community wants those who are persecuted, fleeing, or waiting for asylum decisions to know this:

You are not alone.There are laws, institutions, organizations, faith communities, and countless people in this world willing to walk with you through the darkness.

And we must continue forward, carrying grace.

流亡藝術家夫婦Geoffrey Jin和Gloria Wang聯袂舉辦的「民主・六四主題藝術展」,將於本週六及週日(11月29日、30日)在洛杉磯「六四紀念館」與觀眾見面。展覽以藝術視角回望歷史記憶、記錄中國「民主事件」,透過畫作表達人性的力量及人們對自由的渴望。紀念館歡迎各界人士前往參觀。

這對藝術家夫婦因民主理念被迫離開故土。流亡海外後,藝術成為他們最重要的語言——既是記憶的承載,也是重建生命秩序的一種方式。他們透過合作創作,將個人經歷、共同承受的創痛以及對自由的堅持,融入每一幅畫作。

展覽的核心主題為「記憶如何被保存、如何在離散者的生命中延續」。展出的作品不僅描繪歷史事件,也呈現流亡者特有的情感層次——對故土國民的同情、對真相的執著,以及對民主價值的深切渴望。

洛杉磯「六四紀念館」作為北美重要的歷史與教育場域,長期致力於保存事件記錄、促進公共對話。舉辦本次展覽旨在透過藝術,為人們提供更溫和而深刻的反思方式,讓不同背景的觀眾都能在作品面前找到自己的理解與連結。

週六當天將有多位學者、社區領袖及人權倡議者出席開幕式。兩位藝術家將到場分享創作理念。他們表示,藝術能跨越語言與文化,使六四記憶不再只是歷史事件,而是持續影響當下與未來的思考。

為期兩天的展覽將開放給公眾免費參觀。館方歡迎社區居民、學生及媒體前往了解作品背後的故事,重新思考自由、尊嚴與記憶的價值。

在2025年11月8日洛杉矶中国领事馆门前举行的中国民主党全国委员会第763次茉莉花行动集会中,中国民主党党员们呼吁国际社会持续关注香港支联会三位核心成员——李卓人、何俊仁与邹幸彤——遭长期羁押的情况,并要求中共与香港当局立即无条件释放三人。

在活动现场,主持人袁崛、彭小梅介绍了三人的坚持与贡献:李卓人,为工人争取尊严,推动劳工权益数十年;何俊仁,以律师的身份捍卫弱势群体和人权;邹幸彤,以写作与公开发声守护历史记忆。香港支联会案的审讯曾多次被延后,同时三位民主人士在未经过任何正审的情况下分别被拘押超过1500天与1200天。这种以“审前羁押”代替审判是赤裸裸的政治惩罚,严重摧毁香港的法治根基。“中共与香港当局正在以最卑劣的方式践踏法律。所谓司法程序已经变成迫害的工具。”

我也曾深受香港文化的影响。这种文化孕育于民主与法治的土壤之中。曾几何时,我为香港的繁荣与自由深深感动;而如今,看着一个个有思想的人被捕,一个个向往自由的朋友无奈离散,昔日的东方之珠蒙尘,繁华渐逝,不胜唏嘘。从《苹果日报》被强行关闭,到支联会被清算;从李卓人、何俊仁等民主人士被控“煽动颠覆”,到邹幸彤因为坚持纪念六四而入狱;从街头不再有人敢高举标语,到图书馆的书籍都要被审查;香港从自由之都沦为寒蝉之城,这一切都是《港区国安法》实施带来的后果。

在发言中我提到,李卓人、何俊仁与邹幸彤始终坚守“真相、公义、良知、自由”四大价值。他们认为,纪念“六四”不是犯罪,而是香港社会不可抹灭的道德记忆。“他们以自身的自由为代价,守住了香港最后的良知。如今即便身陷囹圄,他们的声音仍然照亮着每一个人。”

活动发起人倪世成补充介绍了大家熟悉的解救六四活动者的黄雀行动,可以说是支联会在六四后延续“支援民主运动”使命的最重要秘密行动之一,也象征着香港在主权移交前是捍卫自由社会的重要力量。

集会尾声,全体集会者一起高唱歌曲《愿荣光归于香港》。呼吁所有关心人权与法治的民众继续向中共与香港政府施压,不让三位民主人士被遗忘。

活动在歌声与支持者的掌声中结束。组织方表示,将继续推动国际倡议,将被非法抓捕的香港民主人士的处境传向世界。

Jasmine Action No. 763 Calls for the Release of Lee Cheuk-yan, Albert Ho, and Chow Hang-tung

Abstract:In recent years, the Chinese Communist Party has dismantled Hong Kong’s democracy and rule of law through increasingly coercive measures, prompting solidarity and protests from democracy advocates around the world. Recently, the National Committee of the China Democracy Party held the 763rd Jasmine Action in Los Angeles to voice support for Hong Kong democrats unlawfully detained by the CCP.

At the 763rd Jasmine Action rally organized by the National Committee of the China Democracy Party on November 8, 2025, in front of the Chinese Consulate in Los Angeles, party members called on the international community to continue paying close attention to the prolonged detention of three key figures of the Hong Kong Alliance in Support of Patriotic Democratic Movements of China—Lee Cheuk-yan, Albert Ho, and Chow Hang-tung—and demanded that the CCP and Hong Kong authorities immediately and unconditionally release all three.

At the event, hosts Yuan Jue and Peng Xiaomei highlighted the steadfastness and contributions of the three detained activists: Lee Cheuk-yan, who has spent decades fighting for workers’ dignity and labor rights; Albert Ho, who has long defended vulnerable groups and human rights as a lawyer; and Chow Hang-tung, who has safeguarded historical memory through her writings and public advocacy.

The trial of the Hong Kong Alliance case has been repeatedly postponed, while the three democracy advocates have been held for over 1,500 days and 1,200 days respectively without any formal trial. Using “pre-trial detention” as a substitute for due judicial process constitutes a blatant form of political punishment and gravely undermines the foundations of Hong Kong’s rule of law.

“The CCP and the Hong Kong authorities are trampling on the law in the most despicable way. What they call judicial procedure has already become a tool of persecution.”

I too have been deeply influenced by Hong Kong’s culture—a culture rooted in democracy and the rule of law. There was a time when Hong Kong’s prosperity and freedom moved me profoundly; yet today, as I watch independent thinkers being arrested one after another and friends who yearn for freedom forced into exile, I can only lament how the Pearl of the Orient has dimmed, its former brilliance fading away. From the forced shutdown of Apple Daily, to the dissolution of the Hong Kong Alliance; from democracy figures like Lee Cheuk-yan and Albert Ho being charged with “inciting subversion,” to Chow Hang-tung imprisoned for her steadfast commitment to commemorating June Fourth; from the disappearance of protest signs on the streets, to the censorship imposed even on library books—Hong Kong has fallen from a city of freedom into a city of fear. All of this is the direct consequence of the implementation of the National Security Law.

In my remarks, I emphasized that Lee Cheuk-yan, Albert Ho, and Chow Hang-tung have consistently upheld the four core values of truth, justice, conscience, and freedom. They believe that commemorating June Fourth is not a crime but an indelible moral memory of Hong Kong society. “They have paid the price of their own freedom to preserve Hong Kong’s last vestige of conscience. Even in prison, their voices continue to illuminate each of us.”

The event’s initiator, Ni Shicheng, further spoke about the well-known Operation Yellowbird, which rescued June Fourth activists and stands as one of the Hong Kong Alliance’s most important covert missions after 1989. It symbolized Hong Kong’s role as a vital defender of a free society prior to the handover of sovereignty.

As the rally drew to a close, all participants joined in singing “Glory to Hong Kong.” They urged all people who care about human rights and the rule of law to continue pressuring the CCP and the Hong Kong authorities so that these three democracy advocates will not be forgotten.

The event ended with music and applause from supporters. The organizers stated that they will continue advancing international efforts to bring global attention to the plight of Hong Kong democrats who have been unlawfully detained.

时刻警惕台海局势

当意识形态与极权主义抬头导致绝对权利,当狭隘的民族主义思想盛行,终将走向民族布尔什维克主义、军国主义,最终演变到神权法西斯主义。这并非抽象的理论推演,而是当代中国政治路径的现实风险。

 

回望历史,从80年代提出「一国两制台湾方案」,到2019年习近平提出的「习五条」,端倪可寻,中共对战略地位而又物产丰富的台湾早已垂涎三尺。要说中共梦想的“伟业”,第一当属统治台湾,这是任何一个爱好和平的人士必须面对的现实与挑战,中共真正执着的领土议题,从国际舆论导向来看,从来不是俄爹蚕食中国全国面积三分之一的580万平方公里,更不是中印领土之争的芝麻瘠土,而是台湾这块象征自由制度、民主价值、科技核心与海权枢纽的土地。

 

浅谈利好方面,随着今年9月份台湾科技巨头将资本投向美国,坐实了台美关系稳中向好局面,这为什么利好,当中共万事具备之时,唯有世界警察能震慑与敲打中共,使其不得肆意妄为。在这期间,我们不能掉以轻心忽视笼罩在台湾顶上的幽灵,时刻警惕魔鬼降临拉开邪恶帷幕,同时,理解中共可能的冒险动作,必须从三个结构性因素看清其动机与风险。

 

一、中共经济正走向结构性崩塌:对外挑衅成为转移矛盾的捷径

以市场经济去包装掩饰计划经济,以地产经济为核心违背经济规律,背离哈耶克的自发秩序,非自发秩序的经济模式、乌托邦幻想只会渐次衰亡,以目前中共摇摇欲坠的经济困境足以说明一切。

当国家进入“历史的垃圾时间”,任何小的冲击都可能引发连锁危机。在这种背景下,制造外部敌人、操控民族主义情绪、转移国内矛盾,成为中共惯用且最危险的政治手段。

台海局势因此被迫承载了中共的内部政治压力。

二、中共对台湾与西方世界的渗透愈加系统化

冷战时期,中共独裁专制体系最大的挑战与威胁,非来自国内百姓反抗,也非来自中共党内权力之争,而是国际民主化浪潮。今年6月,台北检察机关起诉四名中国人在台从事间谍活动,起诉内容包括泄密、为中国提供机密情报。

互联网时代改变了传播载体,经济全球化也为中共的文化渗透提供了便利,其目的是极力遏制乃至控制日益强大的国际民主潮流,操弄分化与对立社会撕裂,彻底摧毁西方传统的基督教文化与保守价值观,及其整个道德体系。

这是一场没有硝烟的“前置战场”,台湾与民主阵营早已被迫置身其中。

 

三、美国在阻遏邪恶轴心中的关键角色

阻遏中共,台湾与美国需要让北京知道武统台湾的代价。2025年10月赖清德在国庆演说中宣布将加快建设名为 “T-Dome” 的多层导弹防御系统,同时承诺提升国防预算超过 GDP 的 3%,目标到 2030 年达 5%。 

让我们一起期待世界警察在印度太平洋、南海地区的新战略新部署,增强台美军事互动与军事支持,深化台美紧密的安全伙伴关系,从而为这一可能代表后冷战秩序、续苏联红色政权导致的人为灾难时刻做出准备。

二战后,对人类和平发展、人类文明的共同事业贡献离不开美国,台海局势的和平与稳定更是离不开美国。

 

值得注意的是,从甲午前夜,到慈禧向11国同时宣战,整个大清帝国沉浸在“必胜”的狂欢中,再到中共的金门之战,充分体现了极权政治是张拉满弦的弓,箭在弦上不得不发。

当习近平以“世界指南针”自居;当脱稿演讲成为风险;当权力与个人意志紧密捆绑;当魔鬼膨胀到自以为拥有了改变风暴的力量,一个政权便容易在自我神化中误判形势,最终酿成灾难。

历史是胜利者的赞歌,有时候也是无耻与邪恶刽子手的赞歌。战争的胜负不重要,底层老百姓的死活也不重要,重要的是地位与权力的稳固,重要的是转移矛盾,反向锁国,然后将一切责任指向西方。

 

人民是国家权力的最终来源与主人,从这一视角,中国的主人毋庸置疑世人皆知只有共产党。而自由、民主、法治台湾的主人是人民,所以,中共的狼子野心、反人类的武统行径必将以失败告终,并自食其果得到西方国家、现代文明的惩罚。

从宗教角度来讲,权力来自上帝而非个人,权力必须服务于公义与怜悯,而权力滥用与暴政。如法老阻挡出埃及的以色列人民,人类权力、个人或某一组织的权力不得与上帝主权对立,终将如法老被上帝亲自推翻。

 

我们呼吁中共尊重台湾主流民意,停止恐吓台湾人民,放弃对台威逼利诱与胁迫施压,唯有和平共处符合两岸人民共同利益的发展道路。

Stay Vigilant Over the Taiwan Strait Crisis

— The CCP’s Political Weapon for Diverting Domestic Tensions

Abstract:As China’s economy falls into a structural crisis, the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) increasingly relies on nationalism and external conflicts to divert domestic tensions. The Taiwan Strait has thus become a highly volatile flashpoint. This article analyzes the CCP’s potential paths of political adventurism from three structural dimensions: its economic deterioration, its systematic infiltration of Taiwan and the West, and the United States’ strategic containment in the Indo-Pacific. Taiwan’s security is not merely a regional matter, but a shared responsibility of the global democratic community. Facing the external-provocation logic inherent to authoritarian regimes, Taiwan and the international community must remain alert and deepen cooperation to protect freedom, democracy, and the values of human civilization from authoritarian erosion.

When ideology and authoritarianism rise to justify absolute power, and when narrow ethnonationalism becomes mainstream, societies inevitably drift toward national-Bolshevism, militarism, and ultimately theocratic fascism. This is not a theoretical hypothesis but a realistic political trajectory facing contemporary China.

Looking back, from the 1980s proposal of “One Country, Two Systems for Taiwan” to Xi Jinping’s “Five Proposals” in 2019, the signs are clear: the CCP has long coveted Taiwan—a strategically positioned and resource-rich island. If one must name the “great accomplishment” that the CCP dreams of above all, its top priority is the domination of Taiwan. Any peace-loving person must confront this reality. From the perspective of international discourse, the territorial issue the CCP is truly obsessed with has never been the 5.8 million square kilometers taken by Russia, nor the barren contested areas between China and India, but Taiwan—a land symbolizing freedom, democracy, advanced technology, and maritime strategic power.

On the positive side, Taiwan–U.S. relations have strengthened this year, especially after major Taiwanese tech corporations increased capital investment in the United States in September. This is significant because while the CCP may prepare for aggression, only the world’s “police force”—the United States—has the capacity to deter Beijing from acting recklessly. Yet this does not mean Taiwan can let down its guard. The specter hanging above Taiwan remains real. Understanding the CCP’s potential actions requires examining three structural factors that shape its political motivations and risks.

1. China’s economy is collapsing structurally: provocations abroad serve as a shortcut for shifting domestic crises

Wrapping a planned economy in the appearance of a market economy, placing real estate at the core in violation of economic principles, and rejecting Hayek’s spontaneous order—all of this non-spontaneous, utopian economic engineering was destined to decline. China’s current collapsing economic landscape makes this abundantly clear.

When a nation enters its “garbage time of history,” even small shocks can trigger cascading crises. In such a context, manufacturing external enemies, inflaming nationalism, and diverting domestic discontent becomes the CCP’s most common—and most dangerous—political tool.Thus, the responsibility for CCP’s internal pressure is pushed onto the Taiwan Strait.

2. CCP infiltration of Taiwan and the Western world has become increasingly systematic

During the Cold War, the greatest threat to an authoritarian system like the CCP’s was neither public resistance nor elite power struggles—it was the global wave of democratization. In June 2025, prosecutors in Taipei indicted four PRC nationals for espionage, including classified-information leaks and providing intelligence to China.

The internet revolution transformed communication channels, and economic globalization made cultural infiltration more convenient. The CCP’s objective is to suppress, interfere with, and even hijack the democratic momentum gaining strength worldwide—manipulating divisions, deepening social fractures, and undermining the Christian heritage, conservative values, and moral frameworks of Western societies.

This is a “pre-battlefield” without smoke. Taiwan and the democratic world have long been forced to confront it.

3. The United States plays a decisive role in containing the axis of authoritarianism

To deter the CCP, Taiwan and the United States must ensure Beijing understands the cost of invading Taiwan.

In October 2025, President Lai Ching-te announced in his National Day address that Taiwan would accelerate construction of the multi-layered missile defense system known as T-Dome, increase defense spending beyond 3% of GDP, and aim for 5% by 2030.

We should expect new U.S. strategic deployments across the Indo-Pacific and South China Sea, stronger Taiwan-U.S. military coordination, and deeper security partnerships. These preparations are essential for a potential crisis that may define the post–Cold War order—echoing the man-made catastrophes once caused by the Soviet regime.

Since World War II, no contribution to human peace and global civilization has been greater than that of the United States. Peace in the Taiwan Strait likewise depends on the United States.

From the eve of the First Sino-Japanese War to the Qing Dynasty’s reckless declaration of war against eleven nations, to the CCP’s own military ventures such as the Battle of Kinmen, history repeatedly demonstrates the same truth: authoritarian regimes operate like a fully drawn bow—once tightened, it becomes impossible not to release the arrow.

When Xi Jinping proclaims himself the “compass of the world,” when unscripted speeches themselves carry risks, when personal ambition fuses with political power, and when a regime deifies itself into believing it can shape the storm, miscalculation becomes inevitable—and disaster follows.

History is often written as a hymn for victors, but at times, it also becomes a hymn for the shameless and the murderous. Victory or defeat means little; the lives of ordinary people mean even less. What matters to authoritarian rulers is preserving power, shifting blame, and reversing openness—then pointing the finger at the West.

From the democratic perspective, legitimate power belongs to the people. In today’s China, the true “master of the country” is unquestionably the Communist Party, not the people. In Taiwan—a free, democratic, and lawful society—the people are the sovereign. Therefore, the CCP’s predatory ambition and anti-human designs to forcibly annex Taiwan will inevitably fail, ultimately punished by the international community and modern civilization.

From a theological perspective, power comes from God, not from individuals. Power must serve justice and compassion. When power becomes tyranny—like Pharaoh blocking the Israelites’ exodus—no human authority can stand against God’s sovereignty. It will eventually be overthrown by divine judgment.

We call on the CCP to respect mainstream public opinion in Taiwan, cease intimidation, and abandon coercion and manipulation. Only peaceful coexistence serves the best interests of both sides of the Strait.

Let us together defend this free, democratic, beautiful, and prosperous land—Taiwan, a sanctuary of modern civilization.

[旧金山讯] 旧金山湾区的初冬空气清冷,海湾的风吹动美国国旗,也吹动着许多人心底沉睡已久的记忆。11月7日,美国总统川普签署总统公告,正式将11月2日至8日设立为美国历史上的首个“反共产主义周”。这是美国首次以全国纪念周的形式,悼念全球在共产主义暴政下失去生命的亿万受难者。

正是在这样的历史节点上,美西时间11月15日下午14时,中国民主党旧金山党部民运人士选择在中共旧金山总领事馆门前举行大型集会。来自湾区各地的民运人士、宗教自由倡议者、用公开集会的方式使这一历史性的时刻具象化。

这也是一次在自由土地上的人们为那些无法发声的人所作出的集体发声。

美国首次设立“反共产主义周” 背后的政治与历史意义

根据白宫发布的公告,“反共产主义周”指在提醒美国社会:共产主义在过去一百年造成全球超过一亿人非正常死亡,摧毁无数国家的文化、宗教、传统与家庭结构。美国政府强调,这不仅是一段历史,更是当下仍在持续的全球威胁。

这份公告被多位学者视为美国在冷战后最明确、最直接的意识形态定位之一。川普政府在公告中指出,“反抗共产主义不仅是美国的职责,更是所有珍视自由的人共同的使命”。

在这样的大背景下,湾区民运人士选择在旧金山中领馆前集会,把国际政治的重大事件,与他们自身的历史、经历与命运相连。

集会现场:标语挥动、口号嘹亮

来自旧金山湾区民运人士发言人依次表达对自由的坚持与对暴政的控诉,伴随阵阵口号声,现场多次响起掌声。民运人士发言人从不同角度切入:有人从历史与全球视野出发;有人从信仰、人性与道德立论;也有人以切身经历说明极权如何渗入生活的每一寸缝隙。

中国民主党活动部副部长崔允星,是本次活动的主持人。他直言道:“共产主义与社会主义体制本质上是一套谎言,犯下了太多的反人类罪行。所以我们不光要反对共产主义,也要反对社会主义。”

缪青:纪念历史,反抗暴政,守护自由

中国民主党旧金山党部宣传部副部长缪青在发言中指出,这个纪念周不仅是一项象征性动作,更是自由世界向暴政发出的警钟。

他表示,在过去的百余年里,共产主义政权以“平等”、“解放”为名,却在现实中制造了监控体系、思想牢笼与数以亿计的冤魂。

缪青强调:“自由不是天上掉下来的恩典,是需要被一代又一代人守护的真理。” 他指出,冷战结束后,全球曾一度以为极权主义会自然衰败,但事实证明,极权换上新的包装、借着“福利”、“社会公义”、“民主社会主义”等名义重新出现。“ 我们不能被这些新包装的旧谎言欺骗”。“一个国家的伟大来自人民的自由,而不是政府的强大。”

庄帆:自由从来不是天生的,是人民挺身而出的结果

中国民主党党员、党部宣传工作人员庄帆在发言中着重强调自由的来之不易。他指出:“自由不会自己走向人民,但人民可以走向自由。”

庄帆回顾了共产主义在全球扩张的一百年——大规模逮捕、酷刑、监控体系、审查制度、人为制造的悲剧。他提到中共的极权体制不仅压制人民、压制思想,更已成为国际社会的共同威胁。

庄帆呼吁人们警醒:“邪恶不会因为沉默而消失;极权不会因为假象的安宁而停止扩张”。“我们必须让共产主义最终被钉在历史的墓碑上。”

高应芬:共产主义暴政的本质没有变,就是对人性的压制

中国民主党党员高应芬在发言中以更加哲学化的方式讨论共产主义的本质。她指出:“共产主义不是一套政策,而是一种建立在否定人的尊严之上的理论。” 她强调,当代极权政权非常善于伪装:用“平等”掩盖权力独裁,用“福利”掩盖对自由的剥夺,用“正义”掩盖对社会的全面掌控。

高应芬说:“无论它披上什么外衣,结局永远是监控、压迫、恐惧。”

她呼吁世界保持警醒:“我们不是为了制造对立,而是为了阻止错误重演”。“那些在极权统治下的人没有被遗忘,他们是自由世界的良心。”

李树青:共产主义的失败,是对专制思想的最终判决

中国民主党党员李树青在发言中回到历史事实本身。他指出共产主义在全球造成的灾难,从苏联到东欧,从柬埔寨到中国,无数悲剧构成了现代史上最沉重的篇章。

他强调:“没有任何政权可以用‘未来’为名牺牲当下的人性,人民不是工具,思想不是罪行,信仰不该被强迫。” 他提到,在中国的劳改营、审讯室与秘密拘押制度中,无数名字被埋没,但他们的抗争构成了真理复活的基础。

李凯:捍卫民主,就是捍卫人的尊严

中国民主党党员李凯从制度角度切入,指出独裁与民主的本质差异。他强调,中共政权以“稳定”为名压制不同声音,以“发展”为名剥夺自由,以“意识形态”为名强化高度集权。他指出:“独裁政权最大的伤害,是让人民习惯不自由。”

他提醒在场人士:民主需要监督,自由需要守护,沉默就是纵容暴政。

郭超:共产党与法西斯模式惊人相似,必须正视其危险

中国民主党党员郭超在发言中,将中共高度集权的模式与法西斯特征作了直接对比:权力垄断,领袖个人崇拜,思想统一,极端压制异己,以及国家的“唯一声音”。

他指出,在过去几年里,中共的控制模式进一步增强:宣传系统全面运作,网络封锁不断升级,政治权力无限集中。“所谓‘稳定’,不过是强权统治的遮羞布。” 他最后说:“法西斯必亡,共产党必亡!”

尾声:旧金山的风中,有自由世界的呼喊

集会活动历时数小时,现场口号此起彼伏:打倒共产党!自由必胜!反对暴政!捍卫人权!

一些车上路过的美国民众对活动人士鼓掌,鸣笛。

这次活动中有许多是新加入中国民主党的新党员,他们都是中国大陆出来的普通人,他们的脸上既有愤怒,也有一种久违的轻松。他们终于能自由地说话,自由地喊出口号,自由地表达立场。

今年的这个纪念周具有特别意义。它不仅是美国政府对历史苦难的正式承认,更是自由世界对极权阴影的再一次宣告。旧金山的集会,只是全球无数声音中的一个。但正如多位发言人所说:“只要还有一个人愿意发声,极权就无法彻底得逞。”

自由的火焰,从不会因为夜色深沉而熄灭。

Abstract:Pro-democracy activists in San Francisco held a large-scale rally in front of the Chinese Consulate to commemorate the United States’ first “Anti-Communism Week,” calling for resistance against totalitarianism and the defense of freedom. Members of the China Democracy Party delivered speeches exposing the CCP’s brutality, denouncing ideological control, and urging international attention to human rights abuses. Participants emphasized that freedom must be protected across generations and that fascism and authoritarianism will ultimately fail.

The early winter air in the Bay Area was crisp, and the wind sweeping across the bay stirred both the American flag and long-buried memories in many hearts. On November 7, U.S. President Donald Trump signed a presidential proclamation officially designating November 2–8 as the first Anti-Communism Week in American history. It marks the first time the United States has established a national commemorative week to mourn the hundreds of millions who lost their lives under communist regimes worldwide.

Against this historic backdrop, at 2 p.m. on November 15 (Pacific Time), members of the China Democracy Party (CDP) and local pro-democracy activists gathered in front of the Chinese Consulate in San Francisco. Activists from across the Bay Area, along with advocates for religious freedom, participated in the rally, giving tangible form to this historic moment through public assembly.

It was a collective voice raised in a free land on behalf of those who cannot speak.

The Political and Historical Significance Behind America’s First Anti-Communism Week

According to the White House proclamation, Anti-Communism Week aims to remind American society that communist regimes have caused over 100 million unnatural deaths in the past century, destroying nations, cultures, religions, traditions, and family structures. The administration emphasized that this is not just history—it is an ongoing global threat.

Scholars have described this proclamation as one of the clearest ideological statements from the United States since the Cold War. The Trump administration declared: “Opposing communism is not only America’s responsibility but the shared mission of all who cherish freedom.”

With this backdrop, pro-democracy activists in the Bay Area chose the Chinese Consulate as the site of their rally, linking the international political moment to their own histories, experiences, and destinies.

At the Rally: Banners Raised, Voices Unifying

Speakers from the Bay Area’s pro-democracy community took turns addressing the crowd, declaring their commitment to freedom and condemning authoritarian rule. Their speeches were met repeatedly with applause and rallying chants. The themes varied: Some spoke from a historical and global perspective; Others grounded their remarks in faith, humanity, and morality; Still others shared personal experiences to demonstrate how totalitarianism infiltrates every corner of daily life.

Cui Yunxing: “Communism and socialism are built on lies”

Cui Yunxing, Deputy Director of the Activity Department of the CDP’s San Francisco Chapter, served as the event’s host. He stated plainly: “Communism and socialism are fundamentally systems built on lies and responsible for countless crimes against humanity. We must oppose not only communism but also socialism.”

Miao Qing: Honoring History, Resisting Tyranny, Protecting Freedom

CDP Deputy Director of Publicity, Miao Qing, emphasized that Anti-Communism Week is more than symbolic—it is a warning from the free world to authoritarian regimes.

He stated that over the past century, communist governments have invoked “equality” and “liberation” while in reality creating surveillance states, ideological prisons, and countless unjust deaths.

“Freedom is not a gift from heaven—it must be safeguarded across generations.” Miao noted that after the Cold War, many believed authoritarianism would naturally fade. Instead, it re-emerged under new labels such as “social justice,” “welfare,” and “democratic socialism.” “We must not be deceived by old lies wrapped in new packaging. A nation’s greatness comes from the freedom of its people, not the power of its government.

Zhuang Fan: “Freedom is never innate—it is earned when people stand up”

CDP member and publicity worker Zhuang Fan highlighted that freedom does not come on its own:

“Freedom does not walk toward the people. The people must walk toward freedom.”

He reviewed the century-long global expansion of communism—mass arrests, torture, surveillance systems, censorship, and man-made tragedies—and warned that the CCP’s totalitarianism poses a threat not only domestically but globally.

“Evil does not disappear through silence. Totalitarianism does not stop expanding because of false stability.” He concluded: “Communism must be nailed to the graveyard of history.”

Gao Yingfen: “The essence of communist tyranny is the suppression of human dignity” CDP member Gao Yingfen presented a more philosophical analysis, stating: “Communism is not merely a set of policies—it is a theory built upon the denial of human dignity.” She argued that authoritarian regimes disguise themselves skillfully:“Equality” covers dictatorship;“Welfare” covers the stripping of freedom; “Justice” masks total social control. “No matter the disguise, the outcome is always surveillance, oppression, and fear.” She urged global vigilance: “We speak out not to create division, but to prevent the repetition of past tragedy.” “Those living under totalitarian rule are not forgotten—they are the conscience of the free world.”

Li Shuqing: “The failure of communism is the final verdict on authoritarian ideology”

CDP member Li Shuqing returned to historical facts.He summarized the catastrophes caused by communism around the world—from the Soviet Union and Eastern Europe to Cambodia and China.

He stated: “No government can sacrifice present humanity in the name of a promised future. People are not tools. Thought is not a crime. Faith should never be forced.” He noted that countless lives lost in China’s labor camps, interrogation rooms, and secret detention facilities form the foundation for truth’s eventual revival.

Li Kai: “Defending democracy is defending human dignity”

CDP member Li Kai compared authoritarian and democratic systems, pointing out: The CCP suppresses dissent in the name of “stability.” It removes freedom in the name of “development.” It centralizes power in the name of “ideology.” “The greatest harm of authoritarianism is teaching people to grow accustomed to the absence of freedom.”

He reminded the crowd: “Democracy requires oversight. Freedom requires defense. Silence enables tyranny.”

Guo Chao: “The CCP mirrors fascist systems—its danger must be confronted”

CDP member Guo Chao drew direct comparisons between the CCP’s governance and fascist structures: Monopoly on power; Personality cult; Ideological uniformity; Violent suppression of dissent; A single “national voice”

He noted that recent years have seen even tighter controls under the CCP, including aggressive propaganda, intensified censorship, and unprecedented political centralization. “So-called ‘stability’ is nothing more than a fig leaf for authoritarian rule.” “Fascism will fall. The Communist Party will fall.”

Epilogue: In the Wind of San Francisco, the Free World Speaks

The rally lasted several hours. Chants filled the air: “Down with the Communist Party!”“Freedom will prevail!” “Oppose tyranny!” “Defend human rights!”

Passing drivers honked in solidarity.Many attendees were newly joined members of the China Democracy Party—ordinary people from mainland China whose faces reflected both anger and a long-awaited sense of relief. At last, they could speak freely, chant freely, and express their convictions without fear.

This year’s Anti-Communism Week carries special significance.It is not only America’s formal acknowledgment of historical suffering but also a renewed declaration from the free world against the shadow of totalitarianism. San Francisco’s rally was just one voice among many worldwide.But as multiple speakers said: “As long as even one person dares to speak, totalitarianism cannot fully triumph.”

The flame of freedom never dies, no matter how deep the night.
